3/15 COVID update

The league is doing everything we can to help prevent the spread of Covid and to keep our children and their families safe.  As this is an ongoing issue the league has put in safe guards that must be followed by coaches, players, and their families.  What will be expected of players and parents in order to continue play?

1. Players must wash or sanitize hands before, after, and during any breaks.

2. Players are strongly encouraged to wear a mask during play and must wear masks when social distancing cannot be maintained.

3. No sunflower seeds or gum allowed.

4. No sharing of water bottles or personal items and equipment.

5. Practice social distancing.

1. Limit observation to immediate household members only.

2. Social distance between non household members must be maintained.

3. Facial coverings must be worn at all times.

2021 Season

COVID: We are currently monitoring the situation and as most of our children are still online for school, we continue to see strict limitations for sporting events in our County and across California. Last month, California Department of Public Health issued promising guidance for youth sports, especially baseball, to return to the State. With this guidance we can determine what modifications need to be made to our operations to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all our kids. In addition to this we are communicating with county and local officials, Petaluma City Schools, and our friends from other Little Leagues within our District across multiple counties who are also moving forward with a 2021 season.

SPRING 2021 SEASON: At this point, the PNLL board has been busy evaluating how we will deliver a safe baseball season to all our National families in 2021. As you can imagine this has proven very challenging considering the ongoing restrictions. While we all desire to get back to baseball as it was on Opening Day last year, our primary goal is to assemble a plan that is both safe and fun for all.

We appreciate your patience as we navigate these unprecedented times. We will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available, but please understand there are many unknowns at this point and the factors leading toward decisions change from week to week. We appreciate your continued support and look forward to seeing you all on the fields soon!

2020 Refunds -UPDATE

The board decided to give a 50% refund to PNLL families that requested them via a survey that was sent out. Refunds we only given to individuals that requested them through the survey. This survey was sent out on July 1st with responses due by July 8th. Thank you to all who also donated the refund back to PNLL, to cover our cost to run the league.
Sports connect processed all refunds 8/24/2020 to the original form of payment. Please check your original form of payment's statement for the refund. It could take a few weeks from that date to show up on your statement as refunds processing times are determined by your bank and/or CC. If it is not there please contact sports connect.  See sports connect information below.

Dear PNLL Family,

With heavy hearts, the PNLL board has voted to officially end the 2020 Spring Season. Given the current county health order and the recent increase in Covid-19 cases and positive test rate in Sonoma County, we can no longer hold out hope to resume competition.

To all of our wonderful players, there’s more baseball in your future, keep playing catch and swinging that bat, we’ll be back better than ever next season. To our Intermediate and Juniors players, if this is your last season with PNLL please know how much joy it brought us all to see you out there over the years, we are so proud of you. To our managers, coaches and volunteers, we thank you so much for weathering this storm with us. Lastly to our 12 year old Majors players, this was your big year, and we know this was probably really tough for you (and your families). We’re working on a special send off to put a little positive spin on this curve ball.

As you can imagine, ending the season so early will have a major impact on our 2021 budget. We lost significant revenue from our snack bar, and our season costs stayed fixed for uniforms, equipment upgrades and field maintenance. Despite our financial position, we are doing our best to support families by offering the choice of donating your registration fees or requesting a 50% refund. If you are able to make your registration fees a tax deductible donation rather than a refund you would substantially help offset some of these losses. If you haven’t yet, please fill out the survey to let us know how to process your registration fees no later than July 8th. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/V2FZ9K5.

Enjoy the rest of your summer and stay safe and healthy.
